NYC based singer/songwriter Roxiny returns to Kingston with her band after an electric performance at last year’s O+ festival to celebrate the release of her new video, Castles.
“Castles” is a powerful female empowerment anthem with a haunting message. The video shot in La Poza de Las Mujeres, Puerto Rico, lures the viewer into a world of magical realism where Roxiny conjures her inner power and controls the elements, a vision created with long time collaborators – Rebeca Diaz, who co-directed the piece with Roxiny and art director/stylist Sara Lungdren Holman. “Castles” is a wide open expression of female activism meets electronic indie-pop, with a message that is clearly defying the patriarchal system that has long perpetuated violence against women and girls.
