Mikaela Talley is a jazz vocalist whose warm, expressive voice weaves the timelessness of jazz with echoes of soul — a voice shaped by a lifetime immersed in a layered blend of musical traditions.  Her rich, emotive sound is deeply influenced by jazz legends Billie Holiday and Nancy Wilson, while also reflecting the influence of artists such as Marvin Gaye, Dionne Warwick, Joni Mitchell, and Bob Marley. Her career has spanned gospel, musical theatre, classical, reggae — including many years leading an all women reggae band in Hawaii — and jazz, each genre contributing to her distinctive tone and dynamic phrasing.

From stages in Hawaii to venues across California and New York, Mikaela brings warmth, range, and authenticity to every performance. Her voice may float like a cool breeze or smolder with deep emotion, yet always engages with the spirit of improvisation.  Whether she’s riffing on a standard or unveiling a song of her own, every performance is a conversation–honest, intimate, and infused with a unique and personal expression.

Her debut jazz album, Adventures in Starlight, features timeless standards and her original reggae track, “Joyful Noise.” The album is set for release this May.
